PhD, MSc (Health Psychology), ChPsychol, MBPsS
I am a Chartered Psychologist and am currently undertaking my training to become a Chartered Health Psychologist (via the Independent Route with the British Psychological Society).
I have a particular interest in applied psychology and in exploring ways to redefine our experiences of later life particularly around chronic loneliness and more widely, adjustment to change.
I have worked in a number of settings including in academia, in community health settings, public health, and in private practice. Before re-training as a psychologist I attended the Winchester School of Art and worked for many years in the Museums and Galleries sector in PR and marketing.
I am currently working on a number of projects including as a Trainer with Healthy You Ltd delivering a psychological skills programme to NHS staff.
I am also Mindfulness practitioner and teach on courses aimed at those new to mindfulness and meditation.
I have a daily meditation practice and am an ACT therapist (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) (ACT) and this forms the basis of my one-to-one client therapy/coaching work. I have a growing interest in Polyvagal Theory and am keen to explore how this can be used in my work as a Psychologist.
